Martin's professional career covers over 30 years, with experience in Exploration Geology, Mining Geology, Geotechnical Engineering and Computer Programming since gaining his first degree in Geology in 1986. A Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and a Chartered Geologist (UK) since 2000.

MSc qualified in Geotechnical Engineering with considerable experience in ground investigation, foundation design, pavements, slope stability, earthworks, excavations, ground improvement, earthquake liquefaction assessment, contaminated land, soil waste classification and interpretative reporting. Extensive management experience having performed as Team Leader, Regional Group and Office Manager. Experience has been gained in the UK, Botswana, Qatar, Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Martin is also degree qualified in Computing and an accomplished computer programmer and database designer. An expert in the AGS data format and structure, Martin has authored a borehole data management system and numerous in-house systems for engineering organisations. 

Martin is the Technical lead and manager for geotechnical projects across New Zealand and also the office manager for the Wellington office.

He enjoys travel, music, watching football and playing pool. He has also attended three football World Cups and travelled around the world to watch his favourite music artists.
