Rebecca Curd - Office Manager Christchurch

Rebecca joined CGW in early 2017 and looks after the day to day job management for the Christchurch office including job project management, implementation of new systems and invoicing. 

Previously Rebecca has been involved in Service Delivery and Project Administration in the IT industry both in Christchurch and in Nelson.

Outside of the office Rebecca is busy spending time with her family.

Nick Calvert - Principal Structural Engineer

Nick is a Principal Structural Engineer with experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He has worked on a wide range of projects including a 45,000 seat stadium, multi-storey commercial developments, high rise apartment buildings and complex residential projects.

Nick’s ability to deal with stressful situations is valued in his role as mentor to engineers through to project management of multi-disciplines projects. His attention to detail, focus and passion have been instrumental to delivering high quality design documentation which has assisted with building strong client relationships throughout his career. Nick has significant experience undertaking safety in design reviews including leading safety in design workshops on multi-disciplinary projects.

Nick is a passionate cricket player and plays cricket most Saturdays through summer and he also plays Indoor Cricket in winter. Nick also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Robert Smith - Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Robert joined CGW in 2016 and manages the geotechnical team in Christchurch, as well as providing oversight and support to our various CGW geotechnical professionals throughout New Zealand.

Robert has over twelve years of geotechnical experience, which includes undertaking and project managing various small to large residential and commercial developments including subdivisions. Specific foundation designs including piled foundations in liquefiable soils, slope stability analysis and mitigation design of liquefiable soils.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys golf, fishing and travelling.

Domenico (Mimmo) Sclofani - Senior Structural Engineer

Mimmo joined CGW in 2014 when he relocated to New Zealand from Italy where he was working as Structural engineer assessing the seismic performance of buildings and designing multi-storey reinforced concrete frame buildings. In 2017 he applied and obtained his New Zealand Chartered status as Structural Engineer.

Mimmo has key expertise in many areas including; new residential and commercial design, foundation design, retaining walls, modular multi consent design and peer review of structural and geotechnical solutions. Seismic assessment of complex multi-storey buildings and related strengthening plans, commercial EQ damage assessment, and carbon and aramid fibre strengthening. SIP panels, timber, steel and concrete design.

Mimmo enjoys getting into the outdoors tramping, kayaking, travelling and finishing the day with a well-prepared Italian dinner no matter where he is.

Keith Robinson - Senior Structural Engineer

Keith joined CGW in 2018 as a senior structural engineer with both local and overseas experience. After graduating with a BEng (Hons) in Civil & Transportation Engineering from Napier University in Edinburgh he proceeded to travel and work in Ireland, England and Australia finally settling in New Zealand.

Prior to the February 2011 Christchurch Earthquake Keith worked in a small Queenstown based engineering consultancy which volunteered during the Emergency Response. This led into a role within CERA (Government) reviewing seismic assessments and evaluating public building risk. Following this Keith moved back into the private sector working for various engineering consultancies mainly completing insurance related earthquake damage assessments, seismic assessments and designing earthquake repairs/seismic strengthening.

Keith is a keen footballer & coach, beer brewer and runner.

Adam Bell - Civil Engineer

NZDIP. Eng (Civil)

Adam joined CGW in 2020 as part of the company’s civil design team. He has more than 10 years’ experience in many aspects of civil engineering from project conception to completion.

Adams experience includes civil site design, three waters design including stormwater treatment and disposal, 3D modelling and analysis, draughting, surveying and geotechnical site investigations across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, throughout New Zealand and overseas. He has a diploma in Civil Engineering.

 Adam enjoys getting into the outdoors, cycling, board games and DIY projects.

Nadezda Stanojevic - Lead Draftsperson

Nadezda joined CGW in 2019 as the lead drafter in our Christchurch office. She has brought with her extensive knowledge and experience gained from working on large scale corporate and government projects including many school projects for the Ministry of Education, Westfield Shopping Centres throughout New Zealand and the Christchurch Botanical Gardens visitor centre.

Nadezda has a degree in Archaeology from Belgrade University and has previously been a director of a Structural Engineering company.

Nadezda enjoys film, music and dance in her spare time. She also has a keen passion for design and architecture. She has travelled extensively, visiting cities famous for their architecture through-out Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Kaylie Thomson - Project Manager

Kaylie joined CGW in 2020 as a Project Manager and is responsible for project delivery with a focus on multi-disciplinary design delivery and stakeholder management.

Kaylie’s background includes nine years in Facilities & Operations Management where she managed corporate fitout and downsizing projects in the Middle East.  This has been complemented by more recent experience in Engineering Consultancy working on the delivery of large commercial projects across all stages from feasibility through to close-out.

Kaylie holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Management specialising in Project Management and is currently studying part-time towards a Post-Graduate Diploma in Construction Management.

Raised on the West Coast, Kaylie enjoys 4wding and spending time in the great outdoors tramping and camping.  She spent 11 years living and working in Dubai and has travelled extensively; including hiking to Mt Everest Base Camp and summitting Mt Kilimanjaro.

Ryan Clough - Graduate Structural Engineer

Ryan has recently joined CGW after completing his studies at the University of Canterbury. While at University he developed a keen interest in architectural and timber design.

Ryan has experience designing truss and membrane tent structures, residential houses and concert stages.

In his spare time, Ryan likes to get involved in the music scene from production to DJing and when he can get out for a skate, surf or snowboard.

Peter Druce - Graduate Structural Engineer

Peter joined CGW in 2017 after graduating from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelors of Engineering with Honours. his engineering work prior to CGW was a site engineer overseeing the construction of the Woolston Pump Station.

Peter has experience in Low-rise commercial, residential, foundation (TC1, TC2 and TC3 sites) and retaining wall designs. He has also undertaken numerous residential structural damage assessments and some commercial structural assessments.

Peter’s key projects thus far have been the structural design of over 15 NPD service stations in the South Island, Kainga Ora sub-divisions in the Christchurch and Nelson areas.

He is also proficient in using AutoCAD and structural design software packages.

Peter enjoys mountain biking, casual golf and spending time with family and friends.
